Israeli Sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria in the near future?

The working assumption among many “Palestinians” is that the Israeli plan to extend sovereignty to parts of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) is inevitable because Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu  has received a green light from US President Donald Trump to do “whatever he wants”. Other information coming from the ground is that the “Palestinian Authority” is preparing all kinds of countermeasures. Legal pressure at the European politicians and the UN, peaceful protests and ultimately a third intifada.

Historically the “Palestinian leaders” are only interested in one thing: getting rid of the Jews in the land. The result is that the people on the ground is suffering and the popularity of Abbas and other terrorists are loosing grip. A recent Israeli TV poll shows that 65% of the “Palestinians” would rather to be Israeli citizens than to have a state.

Meanwhile, a group of IDF generals has written a letter to US President Donald Trump urging him to support Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s plan to apply sovereignty over 30% of the Judea and Samaria (what the world call ” West Bank”. The group, known as habit’honistim – Protectors of Israel – holds that the plan offers Israel an unparalleled security opportunity to place 30% of the West Bank within Israel’s permanent borders.

The idea of Israeli sovereignty over 30% of the West Bank, including all of the settlements, is already incorporated into Trump’s peace plan to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The alternate prime minister, Benny Gantz believe the moves towards annexation could be what breaks the long-term political stagnation between Israel and the Palestinians. This is the underlying idea of Trump’s peace plan. Some inside the Israeli government are working with the idea of a “gradual application of sovereignty”.

July 1st 2020 is rapidly approaching. and game is on….

The secular media sometimes repeat that “Christians support Israel because they believe Jesus would return if it get all the land”. Obviously this is false. The media has no clue what the Scriptures says or what Biblical Christians believe and often believers are referred as “right wing supporters of Trump’s plan”.

Biblical Christians defend the land was promised by G-d to Israel. All of it. However, those very same Christians know that is not up to them to do that. Christians know they are not called accomplish what is G-d’s task. It is the Lord who will do the job, nobody else. Believers know the land will be divided according to the Bible and whoever is responsible will be hold accountable by the Lord. Prophetically, Christians know the world will divide the land until the Day of the Lord comes.  However, when that happens there will be consequences.

In Joel 3:2, the Lord says: “I will gather all the nations and bring them down to the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them  there on behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations; and they have divided up My land.” (3:2)

This is why many Biblical Christians theologically oppose to Trump’s plan for fearing America will pay the price for it. These very same Christians are joining those Jewish families (so called “settlers”) who oppose to apply sovereignty to those areas now. Accepting the “annexation” means to accept to divide the land and they do not want for the reason above.

Whatever happens in the near future the Lord is in control. We know these developments only confirms we are living in the last days. Believers in Yeshua (Jesus) pray for the Palestinians and Israelis as both sides are suffering with the conflict.

Let’s pray as the coming weeks and months will likely bring even more turmoil to the region.

Let’s pray for the peace of Jerusalem !
